Crispy Waffles

Ingredients

Dry Mix

3/4 Cup (90g) Flour
1/4 Cup Corn Starch
1/2 Tsp Baking Powder
1/2 Tsp Baking Soda
1/2 Tsp Salt

Wet Mix

1 Cup Milk
1/3 Cup Oil
1 Large Egg
1 Tsp Vanilla Extract
1 Tbsp Sugar

Tools

1 Mixing Bowl
1 2-Cup Measuring Cup
1 Whisk
1 Waffle Iron
1 Oven
1 Kitchen Scale (Optional)
1 Laddle (Optional)
1 Pair of Tongs (Optional)

Instructions

Preparation

Measure the dry ingredients and mix together in the mixing bowl.
Measure and combine the wet ingredients into the 2-Cup measuring cup in the order as listed.
Whisk together the wet ingredients in the measuring cup or additional bowl if desired.
Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and whisk together gently. Do not over mix.
Let the mix sit for 10 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Fahrenheit.
Place the waffle iron on a level surface and set it to medium high.
Note: All waffle irons are a little different. Modify the timing and heat setting as needed.

Cooking

Pour about 1/2 cup of the mix evenly onto the iron and close.
Most waffle irons will take 3-5 minutes per waffle or indicate when the waffle is done.
Using the tongs, carefully remove the waffle and place it driectly on the oven rack.
Repeat this process until for the rest of the mix.
DO NOT stack the waffles in the oven. Moisture will be trapped between stacked waffles and make them soft.
